Become a Mystery Shopper - Help Build Customer Loyalty
| Please read all the information below
to learn the ins and outs of mystery shopping, and how to signup
online. |
What is the Value of Mystery Shopping?
Mystery shoppers shop all kinds of service oriented businesses. These
include banks, stores, restaurants and more. The information gathered
from mystery shopping can
enhance a company's customer loyalty.
What does it take to be a mystery shopper?
Will you...
- Read carefully to ensure you will meet the clients' specifications?
- Notice details and report them accurately?
- Write objectively and concisely?
- Return phone calls or e-mails promptly?
- Meet deadlines consistently and reliably?
How far will I have to travel and how much work might I get as a mystery
shopper?
It depends. We try to assign work to shoppers who live close to our
clients' locations so the amount of work available will depend on how
many locations are within your geographic area.
Is mystery shopping a full-time job?
Not usually. We may have several clients in your geographical area,
or only a few. Some clients require we rotate mystery shoppers rather
than sending the same person over and over. Some clients require monthly
shops and others ask for shops only once a quarter or once a year.
Can I mystery shop for other companies?
Absolutely! In fact, we encourage you to do so. As with most skilled
activities, the more you do it, the better you become at it. Visit the
site for the Mystery Shopper Providers Association (MSPA) which posts
a variety of shopping opportunities from its member companies. (www.mysteryshop.org)
How and when do I get paid for mystery shopping?
Mystery shoppers are independent contractors. Customer Perspectives
pays for satisfactory completion of shopping reports on a per shop basis.
The rate varies from client to client and is agreed upon in advance.
In addition, some of our clients also reimburse for purchases and allow
shoppers to keep the items. Payment to shoppers is made via PayPal on
a monthly basis, paid around the 20th of the following month.
How do I become a mystery shopper?
Before you fill out our questionnaire, ask yourself these questions:
- Can we always count on you to complete your shopping opportunities
on time?
- Do you have reliable access to a computer?
- Would you still be willing to do shops for us even if sometimes
we could only give you one shop/month?

Customer Perspectives
strongly supports MSPA Certification; Gold Certification is now
available on DVD!
|
"There is no question that getting the Gold certification
has been the best (and smartest) thing I have ever done,
from the standpoint of earnings. I went from, maybe bringing
in a bit of extra spending money, to where I now work as
much as I can handle and am free to no longer accept assignments
that pay $5 for the 'privilege' of doing a shop, which also
requires an hour of typing! I also no longer accept assignments
from certain companies...

"Almost from the moment I got the Gold certification,
I began receiving better assignments that paid more. Of
course, I do work very hard to do assignments as they are
requested -- otherwise the Gold certification would have
no meaning."

AVOID MYSTERY SHOPPING JOB SCAMS!
| |
NEVER pay a fee to anyone to sign up,
purchase a book or list of names |
| |
NEVER pay a "membership fee" |
| No legitimate
mystery shopping company will charge you money to register
on their site. One would never apply for a job where the company
asks for money up front so you can start work. |
| |
Companies that promise high paying assignments,
"lots of assignments" in your area or other "too good to be
true" offers to entice you to register should be investigated
further before registering. |
| |
Legitimate mystery shopping companies NEVER
send checks or wire funds to anyone until AFTER they have
successfully completed an assignment and it has been accepted. |
| |
NEVER send personal information via
email |
| |
Get a valid web site and look for the MSPA
logo on that site (see below) |
| |
NEVER go to a website through a link
sent to you in an email. Go to the website independently
of any link that might be sent to you. Scammers often copy
websites so they look real |
| |
Register only on a legitimate, verified
web site. If you do not find the MSPA logo, move on. And even
if you do, verify, verify, verify! Scammers can easily
steal the MSPA logo to make themselves look legitimate. |
The best way to be sure you've reached
a legitimate MSPA member company is from the MSPA website. You
can find mystery shopping company names, phone numbers and websites
at no cost on the MSPA site HERE.

Excerpts from some happy shoppers...
"I work regularly for only a very small number of mystery
shop companies and most often for Customer Perspectives, in part
because I feel you all offer more personal contact with your independent
contractors, so it's doubly pleasing to be recognized by you"
"It was such a nice surprise to receive the note and check
for being a good shopper!! ...It was especially encouraging to
receive this note of encouragement (and the extra money is always
a nice treat). I thoroughly enjoy working with Customer Perspectives.
Your staff is great to work with, your jobs are the best, and
your forms are my favorites.
Thank you so very much."
